Cozy Rustic Baby Shower- Newtown CT
Welcoming a new baby is an exciting time in your life that deserves to be celebrated. A baby shower is an event filled with so much love and happiness for the arrival of your new baby. At Ali & Steve’s intimate and cozy baby shower, the vibes were exactly that. Family and friends gathered at The Foundry Kitchen & Tavern in Newtown CT to shower their newest addition.
The Foundry has a stunning rustic event space above their public dining room. This space can be rented for your event and conveniently has a full-service bar, multiple farmhouse style dining tables, and gorgeous windows that let in a ton of natural light. The space is a photographers dream!!!
The theme for Ali’s event was SO well thought out. Her friends told me she was an avid reader, and fan of Jane Austin. Logically, she chose a book worm inspired decor for this “New Chapter” in their lives! Ali hand made her table runners. They were composed of pages from children’s novels such as Charlottes Web and other fan favorites. This made the tables have an elegance to them and set the mood perfectly. Pages of books were intricately cut into heart garland and hung throughout the dining room. You could find this handmade decor in all aspects of the room. I was blown away by all the little details and knew they had to be captured after all this hard work. That's the beauty of hiring a photographer for your events big or small. I make sure no little details go unnoticed, or undocumented, and now you'll have them forever to look back on.
The Foundry provided bar services as well as some delicious light bites to start the party. Guests received a plated garden salad, and could pick from a variety or fresh fruits upon their arrival. After these delicious appetizers, a brunch buffet opened up and I can confirm not a single guest left hungry.
The event was not complete without entertainment. Ali & Steve had a lot of fun games for guests to play, including a diaper raffle. All of their family and friends took turns guessing what
features they thought the little one would inherit from their parents, and participated in various other fun activities. Guests had the opportunity to leave the couple parenthood advice on library cards, as well as color a page for their son's first alphabet book. Every guest ecstatically contributed, making their mark on this special day.
Ali took turns snapping photos with her guests throughout the party. Everyone was eager to snap a photo with the new mom, and now one day her sweet boy can look back and see how much he was loved before he made his arrival.
My favorite was the favors. Each guest was given a handmade book mark to take home and a delicious cookie. The bookmarks had quotes from iconic authors and a small thank you note from the couple for everyone's generosity. The cookies were assorted baby items with a twist. The rattles had beautiful icing complete with writing that looked like it was pasted from a paperback novel.
I love seeing a couples personality and hobbies sprinkled throughout their special events. Ali & Steve executed their theme so tastefully. The room was exploding with love that day and I know their boy is so blessed to have them as his parents. It is clear we all can't wait to meet you!
